This data is a subset of SEABEAM file. 5 Beams of actual data were extracted from each return. Sampling rate varies from 10 to 30 seconds along track. The projection is geographic, the units are decimal degrees, the soundings are in meters, and the horizontal positioning accuracy is variable, but assumed to be within 20 meters for GPS and within 50 meters for LoranC. Purpose: Supplemental_Information: Source seabeam83.txt contains a concatenated set of data from the SeaBeam imaging side-scanning sonar that were collected after 1984 in meters and referenced to the NAD 83 datum. Horizontal position accuracy is unknown for all data sets, but presumably better for this set than earlier ones.
